Zoo
Ethics was formed during the cold winter month of January,
2004. Although it was formed, it wasn’t close to being
complete. The three members, two of which had almost tasted
the flavor of being in a real working band, set their less
than pitiful equipment up in a garage where the temperature
reached highs of 28 degrees. Despite, not being able to feel
his fingers, guitarist Duane “Bemis” Nelson slammed
out a riff which would later become the song Dangerously Sober.
After hearing the riff, drummer Jason Andrew uncovered himself
from a mink blanket and played along with the riff. After
playing for a few moments, singer Curtis Byrd constructed
some lyrics and attempted to sing along while the other two
played. Although, Curtis and Duane had been writing music
together for the better part of five years, the addition of
Jason as their drummer and thier growing musical talents brought
new life to their musical ideas. During this first session
of playing, all three realized there was something unique
about the style of music they were trying to create. |
